“Animal-Eyes” Your Poetry! Writing Poems from a Non-Human Point of View

“Animal-Eyes” Your Poetry! Writing Poems from a Non-Human Point of View
with Cindy Ellen Hill
Tuesday, August 18 2026, 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
We will read poems demonstrating the variety of voices other poets have used to speak from a non-human point of view–poems that foreground the perspective of animals. Each participant should also bring one of your own poems written from a non-human point of view, or written from any perspective that you think could use a re-write, and we’ll share them in a supportive workshop context focusing on whether using a non-human persona might elevate the poem’s effectiveness. In the week after the workshop, Cindy will read and comment on each participant’s re-crafted poem. Free to members (join to attend!); registration required.

The online workshop will be on Google Meet (a link will be emailed to all registered members prior to the workshop.)
