Judith Janoo was born in Damariscotta, Maine. She’s a long-standing member of the Poetry Society of Vermont and a member of the editorial board which reviews poems for The Mountain Troubadour. She enjoys being part of a community of poets working to improve craft and with an eye to finding a home for their poetry. She’s been critiquing and editing poems in peer writing groups for twenty-five years, and among other occupations owned an income tax business for thirty years. She’s won several awards including Carol Lee Vail Prize for Poetry, the Soul-Making Keats Award, the Anita McAndrews Award for Human Rights Poetry, and the Vermont Award for Continuing Excellence in Writing. Her writing has appeared in The Pedestal, The Fish Anthology, Main Street Rag, Evening Street Review, and the Troubadour. Her chapbook, After Effects, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2019.
