featuring PSOV President Robyn Joy
photos and comment shared on social media by PSOV members Cindy Ellen Hill
If you don’t know about the monthly poetry salon at Pierson Library in Shelburne, please consider going! Two featured poets followed by an open mic, once a month; check the Pierson Library website for schedule. Tonight’s reading [February 27th] by featured poet PSOV President Robyn Joy was fabulous! Such a privilege to hear a substantial set of a poet’s works in one go.
Excerpt from the
Meta-Golden-Shovel-Experiment
(Layer 3, Line 4)
It is the days of
fiddleheads unfurling into ferns, trying to give
lineage to this moment.
You’ve been
limber with the trees, watched while they’ve retrieved
their bark and
modestly gotten dressed in spring green.
Because oh, holy forest, this is how
we can show you we love you –
every eyelash wish will bring
your roots to the cells of the dirt before we ruin it.
