Overview

The Poetry Society of Vermont’s Online Poetry Group is for PSOV members to read their poems and receive supportive feedback. The Online Poetry Group meetings will be facilitated by PSOV Executive Board members and/or invited PSOV members. Members are encouraged to upload a poem each month in the sign up form which they may read and offer for discussion during the online meeting. Participants do not have to submit a poem to attend the poetry group meeting. PSOV Online Poetry Group meetings are free to all PSOV Members. 

Goals

• Providing a space for creative expression: Offering monthly meetings with readings allows poets to share their work and be heard.
• Encouraging growth and improvement: Supportive feedback helps poets refine their craft and develop their skills.
• Building connections and support: Creating a community where poets can connect with each other, offer encouragement, and find mutual support.

Links for the poems and the Google Meet will be provided to PSOV Members who have signed up for the monthly poetry group.

PSOV Online Poetry Group will be held every third Thursday of the month unless otherwise posted and facilitated by Buffy Aakaash, PSOV Editor, as well as other occasional facilitators. One week before the meeting, members should have signed up and uploaded a poem. PSOV Online Poetry Group meeting facilitators will send an email to the participants with a link to the online Google Meeting and a link to the PSOV Online Poetry Group Response Form Spreadsheet which will have links to all of the group’s uploaded poems. 

Members are asked not to submit any poem read and discussed at the monthly Online Poetry Group to the PSOV Spring/Fall Poetry Contests which are voted on by the PSOV Membership.

Venue

The monthly PSOV Online Poetry Group meetings will be held online using the PSOV Google Meet non-profit account and scheduled on the PSOV Google Calendar which is posted to the PSOV Website.
