Spring Workshop: May 3, 2025 (Now FULL)

This year’s Spring Workshop will be held at Hotel Coolidge, White River Junction, Vermont and led by Neil Shepard, poet, essayist, professor of creative writing, and literary magazine editor. This workshop is free for members, non-member guests may be invited to attend if capacity allows on April 14th.  (More information about Neil and other workshop details is forthcoming.) 

• Location: Hotel Coolidge, White River Junction, Vermont 
• Time: 10am to 3pm
• Lunch: there will be an hour for lunch, so bring your own or go to a local restaurant
• Cost: is free for members (after an initial member sign up period, non-member guests will be invited to sign up for a fee of $20 on April 14th.)

Members who wish to have a poem considered for reading & feedback at the workshop must sign up for the workshop by April 12th (and have submitted their poem to the contest by April 6th) and indicate on the Spring Workshop Sign Up Form that they would like their poem considered for reading & feedback. The workshop leader will choose from the list of attendee poems to read/critique at the workshop. The poem must be submitted to the PSOV Spring Poetry Contest before April 6th and follow the guidelines below. (note: workshop sign up and poem submission are separate actions.)

Spring Poetry Contest Submission & Guidelines:

• Open for Submissions: March 17, 2025
• Closed for Submissions: April 6, 2025 (now Closed)
• Submit one poem, any style, any topic.
• Upload poems in a Word or Google Document.
• Times New Roman 12pt font.
• Single space between lines and double-space between stanzas.
• Please keep poem length to one page.
• No previously published poems.
• Simultaneous submissions are allowed (Notify us asap if your submitted poem is accepted elsewhere.)
• Do not include any identifying information in the uploaded poem document.
• You must be a member of PSOV to enter this contest.
• An online voting form will be sent to all members on or around April 13, 2025 where they will have the opportunity to vote for their top ten poems. The top ten ranked choice poems will be published in next year’s publication of The Mountain Troubadour.
