An invitation from our friends at the Fletcher Free Library,

I am writing to let you know about the upcoming 150th anniversary celebration at the Fletcher Free Library on Saturday, July 15. I’ve included information below about the event. It seems like something Poetry Society might be interested in, and we hope you will join us for the celebration!
On Saturday, July 15, the Friends of the Fletcher Free Library will sponsor a series of family-friendly activities to honor the library as a cornerstone of our community. The day will include music, interactive events, exhibits, a parade, and, of course, a birthday cake.
The birthday bash will kick off at noon with a short parade from the Unitarian Universalist Society at the top of Church Street and end at Main Street. We’ll gather at the UU Church at 11:30. The parade theme is “Dress as Your Favorite Literary Character (or author).” We invite you to get out your best Jabari bathing suit, Snowy Day snowsuit, Percy Jackson outfit, or Robert Frost-inspired garb, but costumes are optional. If you prefer not to dress in costume, we still hope your group will join us for the parade.
If you intend to participate, please register by July 10. Please feel free to share this information with other groups, families, or individuals who may be interested. If you have any questions, please contact us at fletcherfree150.
