a Frost Sesquicentennial!

PSOV is pleased to pass along the following invitation to our members and subscribers.

A celebration of Robert Frost’s 150th birthday on Monday, March 25, 2024

3:00 – Award-winning actor Gordon Clapp performing “Robert Frost at Dartmouth” East Reading Room, Baker Library

4:00 – A reception in Reiss Hall, Baker-Berry Library

4:30“You Come Too,” a Frost birthday celebration and recitation. Bring a Frost poem to share or simply come to enjoy!

5:45 – A group photo at the Frost statue.

Sponsored by the Dartmouth Libraries, Dartmouth College Department of English & Creative Writing, Theta Delta Chi fraternity, and the Crossroads Academy 7th grade.

PSOV encourages you to accept Ada Limón’s challenge, singing out, offering something back to the earth, noticing our connection to the planet… Limón’s project offers two initiatives and a call-to-action, including, “Poetry in Parks,” not unlike the Vermont Humanities program “Words in the Woods” which featured several PSOV member poets in 2023. Vermonter’s are keenly attuned to the power of place and the importance of connection to nature through poetry.

We are happy to post the following announcement and congratulate all students who participate Poetry Out Loud. Each year, PSOV awards the Emerging Poet Membership to winners of this student contest where they receive a year’s free membership to PSOV and copy of The Mountain Troubadour.
