First Call, Spring Luncheon-Workshop

Saturday, May 6, 2017


Our Annual Spring Luncheon-Workshop will take place on Saturday, May 6. We will meet at Vergennes Congregational Church, 30 Water St., Vergennes, VT. Thank you, Len and Janet Gibbs, for helping us to organize this year’s spring event.


Our Workshop Critic will by Ray Hudson of Middlebury. Jane Wollmar will be Workshop Chairperson, and Readers will be Sally Reisner, Marshall Witten, and Dan Close. There will be a Council Meeting from 9:30-11:30 A.M., followed by the Luncheon at noon. After lunch there will be a brief business meeting. The Workshop will run from about 1:30 to 3:30 P.M.


Janet Gibbs and several church members will provide the luncheon Menu: Kale salad w/dried cranberries, pecans and balsamic lemon vinaigrette. Baked chicken breast in parsley garlic butter. Vegetable lasagna. Small potatoes. Rolls & butter. Coffee, tea, glass of wine.

Fruit & pudding compote. Cookies. Coffee, tea, and donuts will be available in the morning.


For Workshop, send one poem. You may write on any topic, in any style, but please limit your poem to 40 lines, including title and spaces. Use Times New Roman 12 and SINGLE SPACE! Try to keep the poem compact without long lines so that it can be formatted for Second Call. Email your poems (in body of email) to Marta M Finch: moimarta@outlook.com  by FRIDAY, APRIL 14.   Those members who do not have email please send your poem to Ann B. Day, 24 Rivermead Rd, Peterborough NH 03458 for typing. Please Include your reservation form below.


DIRECTIONS: Take any of the three exits for Vergennes from Route 7. All lead to the center of town. At traffic light in the Center (Village Green), go straight down the hill (S. Main St.) toward Otter Creek Bridge. Before bridge, turn left onto South Water Street at blinking light (Bixby Library will be on your right). The Church is on your right at 30 Water St. Turn into driveway to a large parking lot. Enter through the backdoor where a handicapped ramp is located.
