SPRING LUNCHEON & WORKSHOP

Quechee Inn at Marshfield Farm, Quechee, VT

 

This year’s Annual PSOV Spring Luncheon and Workshop will be at the Quechee Inn at Marshfield Farm in Quechee, VT on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020. Are you ready for tulips and daffodils and lilacs in full bloom—or at least ready to burst out?! We will be traveling to the home of Quechee Gorge and VINS Nature Center on Route 4 in Eastern VT. Detailed directions to be included in the Second Call.  

 

Poet David Weinstockwill be our PSOV Workshop Critic and will be commenting on all of the submitted poems. Weinstock lives, writes and teaches in Middlebury, where he leads the long-running Otter Creek Poets open workshop. His poems have appeared in MomentRiding the MeridianModern Haiku, The Journal of the American Medical AssociationLyric, and Monterey Poetry Review. He is the author of a book-length collection, The Amalek Poems, published online.

 

As usual, there will be a morning Council Meeting from 9:30 – 11:30am; join us if you wish and please contact any board member if you have concerns or ideas to share! The Luncheon will follow at Noon, and the Workshop will run from about 1:00 to 3:30pm. New members, contact me with any questions. Come and pick up your copy of The Mountain Troubadour!

 

PLEASE SEND YOUR POEMS ASAP—DEADLINE IS MONDAY, APRIL 13th 

Send one poem, any style, any topic, but please limit your poem to 40 lines, includingtitle and all breaks. Use Times New Roman 12,SINGLE SPACED. Try to keep the poem compact with NO long lines, for formatting in the Second Call. Email your poems pasted in body of email or as an attachment to workshop@poetrysocietyofvermont.org.

 

DEADLINE FOR LUNCHEON RESERVATIONS IS WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22nd

Luncheon will include:  Quiche & Salad: a choice of vegetarian or Quiche Lorraine (with bacon) served with a garden salad, soup du jour, and fruit topped cheesecake for dessert. Green Mountain Coffee and assorted teas included. Cost is $25 per person, tax and tip included.
