PSOV Summer 2022 Contests

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES CHECKLIST

Please read and follow these submission guidelines carefully

  • Annual PSOV dues must be paid to be eligible to submit poems.
  • Previously published poems are ineligible for submission.
  • Only one poem may be submitted to each of the six Summer Contest awards.
  • Each submitted poem must have a title and one contest designation.
    • Put all poems in one attachment.
    • Email to PSOV Summer Contests
    • Write a subject line that reads: PSOV Summer Contests.
    • In the body of the email include your name and a list of the titles of all the poems being submitted, with the particular award for which the poem is being entered.
    • Submit one only poem per contest.
    • Do not include your name or any personal identifiers in poem files.
  • FormatPoems must be in Word .doc or .docx, 12-pt. Times New Roman, single-spaced.
  • Length: See the individual contest descriptions below for line limits.
 
You will receive email confirmation of your entries.


For all other awards, judges will name one winner, receiving a $50 prize, and one honorable mention. Both winning poems and honorable mentions will be published in The Mountain Troubadour the following year.


 




SUMMER CONTESTS AWARDS

 

1.  CAROL AND ARNOLD ABELSON AWARD

     An historical event or place or current political situation that fosters opposition,

     controversy and/or social change, 40-line limit

   

     MARY MARGARET AUDETTE MEMORIAL AWARD 

A  Light or humorous verse, 32-line limit

J. 

     RICHARD BARRY MEMORIAL AWARD 

     Vermont or country theme, 32-line limit

 

3. MARIAN GLEASON MEMORIAL AWARD

A   Any theme, 20-line limit

 

4.  GOLDSTEIN MEMORIAL AWARD

A.  Any theme, 40-line limit


5.  LAURA J. SPOONER MEMORIAL AWARD

 L  Love poem, 40-line limit

     

     CHRIS WHITE MEMORIAL AWARD 

 Science, science fiction, or math theme, 25-line limit
